With its latest additions — including a Hollywood who’s-who of A-list celebrity guests — the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival is now guaranteed to blow your mind.
Nowhere is that more evident than in the Mavericks program, which has evolved into a powerhouse after launching years ago as a quirky sideshow. Edward Norton will interview Bruce Springsteen live on stage, Canadian basketball superstar Steve Nash will introduce his inspirational ESPN documentary Into the Wind, Oscar-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman will sit down for an in-depth session with Canada AM host Seamus O’Regan, and bombastic filmmaker Michael Moore will interview British leftie filmmakers Ken Loach and Paul Laverty, who use their cinema as a political tool.
The fest runs from Sept. 9-19.
The celebrity guest list could hardly be more impressive: Clint Eastwood, Jon Hamm, David Suzuki, Robert De Niro, Hilary Swank, Colin Firth, Robert Redford, Keanu Reeves, Steve Coogan, Ryan Gosling, Ryan Phillippe, Ryan Reynolds, Woody Harrelson, Zach Galifianakis, Will Ferrell, Bill Murray, Uma Thurman, Rachelle Lefevre, Natalie Portman, Clive Owen, Matt Damon, Javier Bardem, Paul Giamatti, Aamir Khan and Megan Fox are among the hundreds who have signed on.
