Megan Denise Fox was born 16th May 1986. When she was brought into the hospital room in Knoxville on May 16, 1986, her mother was watching the Elvis movie Blue Hawaii. The next film she saw starred Marilyn Monroe, which apparently had a profound impact on mother and child. “I wanted to be an actress from when I was three,” she says. “I saw The Wizard of Oz and I was obsessed with it and I wore a Dorothy costume that we made from an OshKosh (children’s-wear label) jumpsuit. And I made my mom call me Dorothy.” Megan says that she grew up in a very poor household in Tennessee but she had the opportunity to begin training in acting and dance at the mere age of five. Her family moved to Florida when she was 10-years old and there young Megan continued her training and finished school. She began acting and modeling at the age of 13 after winning several awards at the 1999 American Modeling and Talent Convention in South Carolina. With the success as a model, Megan began to pursue acting seriously and made the move to Los Angeles, California.

Megan made her film debut in 2001 in Holiday in the Sun as Brianna Wallace, the spoiled heiress and rival of Ashley Olsen. In 2002, Megan landed the role of Ione Starr in the television series Ocean Avenue. Only days after she finished filming in Miami, Fox returned to Los Angeles where she was cast within the month as Cassandra Ridgeway in the WB series The Help. Unfortunately the show only ran for a few episodes but it certainly did not stop Megan Fox. She appeared in episodes of What I Like About You, Two and a Half Men and the ABC comedy pilot, News To Me. In 2004 Megan starred as Candace Birch in ABC Family’s TV movie Crimes of Fashion. Next Fox went on to score a major role in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen alongside Lindsay Lohan. There was a rivelry between their characters, which enchoed in real life as Megan has admitted that she did not get along with Lohan. “Lindsay and I weren’t the best of friends. Because I looked older than her, she’d be nice to my face so I would buy her cigarettes. We got away with it every time.” Fox was also cast as Sydney Shanowski in Hope & Faith, a sitcom to which she was attached to between 2004 and 2006, appearing in a total of 29 episodes. She was nominated for a Young Artist Award for the role. During this time Megan was craving for more movie roles. “I have a really offbeat, weird, dark sense of humor. My sense of humor doesn’t really mesh well with sitcom television.”

Her Transforming role: Megan as Mikaela Banes

Transforming Career
After starring in Hope & Faith, Fox landed her breakthrough role of the female lead, Mikaela Banes, in Michael Bay’s 2007 summer blockbuster hit Transformers, finally becoming a major household name. Megan enjoyed the role, especially as she got to do some ass kicking herself. She also befriended co-star Shia LaBeouf. Because of the huge international success of the movie, a sequel is in the works and will be released in 2009. HIt is a possibility that Transformers will be turned into a trilogy and it can be assumed that the character of Mikaela will be on board for two more movie movies. That, however, is the decision of the studio. Fox also joined the cast of How to Lose Friends and Alienate People in June 2007. In it she will be playing Sophie Maes, a young Hollywood starlet and Simon Pegg’s object of affection. The film will be released in October 2008 in the UK. Up next for Megan is Jennifer’s Body, the Diablo Cody (Juno) penned dark comedy. The film, described as similar in tone to Heathers, sees Megan in the role of Jennifer, a newly possessed cheerleader turns into a killer who specializes in eating her male classmates.

In November 2006, she announced her engagement to long time boyfriend and Beverly Hills 90201 star Brian Austin Green. Megan and Brian reside in Los Angeles with their dogs. Megan has graced the covers and sexiest women lists of several men’s magazines, including FHM, Maxim and GQ. In 2008 FHM crowed her as the sexiest woman alive! Besides her career as a promising actress and stunning model, the multi-talented lady has received training in piano, clarinet, singing, swimming and gymnastics and she also does work as an artist.
