The Maui Film Festival, returning to Wailea and the MACC June 15 to 19, has announced its latest va-va-voom luminary: Megan Fox will receive its new Iris Award. Probably best known for her “Transformers” rolls, the young actress will accept the honor at a gala opening-night ceremony at the festival’s majestic outdoor Celestial Cinema, followed by a screening of “Na Nai‘a: Legend of the Dolphins,” in which she shares the narrating duties with a host of other stars.

It was recently revealed that MGM hired Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (“Big Love,” “Glee”) to write the script for the upcoming “Carrie” remake, based on a Stephen King novel. After the announcement, King mentioned that the casting process will be very interesting, naming Lindsay Lohan as someone who could play the role. Now comes word that Megan Fox is interested in playing Carrie.

“Megan is a huge fan of the original and would love the chance to play the lead,” said a source close to the actress. “She’s 25 now but she’s sure she could still do justice to teenage Carrie.”

Sounds really interesting! Good luck Megan!

We added the first prosuction stills of Megan’s upcoming movie “Friends with Kids” opposite Jon Hamm, Adams Scott & Kristen Wiig. Megan looks gorgeous, can’t wait for the movie, it sounds so good!

The project revolves around a pair of thirty-something best friends who observe the toll that having kids has taken on the couples they know and resolve to bypass that stress by having a child and then date other people. Scott and Westfeldt will play the lead couple; Wiig and Hamm will play another. A third couple has not been cast. Fox will play a girl who Scott begins to date.
